Santa Lucia Pizza

This place is one of the two best pizza joints I have found in Winnipeg. My other choice being Dianne's Gourmet Pizza. Santa Lucia's deliveries are super fast. Their pizza is always fresh and hot, never too salty or greasy. I find the sauce to be exemplary. All of the ingredients are of excellent quality. My only complaint about the pizza is a minor one, on occasion they put a little too much sauce on it for my taste. But that hasn't happened in a long time, and when it has I have just pressed out any excess. So it isn't much of an issue. They also make a superb lasagna, it has tons of cheese and I seem to recall that it comes with a very hefty slice of fresh garlic bread. Their greek salads are huge, this also coming with the same garlic bread. They have a very unique dressing that is unlike any other greek salad dressing I have ever tasted. I personally love it, but for some folks it may be too different from the greek dressings that most people are used to. However different is great in this case and you have to try it. Santa Lucia's proportions are also very good, the lasagna could do with more meat, but that is the only thing that I have ever ordered that came up a bit short on an ingredient. I do prefer this establishments pizza over Diannes Gourmet Pizza. Dianne's pizza is also very good, but certainly not better than Santa Lucia's. Santa Lucia also has reasonable prices for pizza of this high quality, unlike Dianne's Gourmet Pizza which is MASSIVELY overpriced, and there is seemingly no end to Dianne's frequent price increases. Santa Lucia has never dissapointed me. Read more

Great little restaurant on Corydon. The Greek Salad was great, I had the chicken souvlaki with roast lemon potatoes and the best Chicken Lemon Rice soup I have ever had. The restaurant is small and busy, and the service is fantastic. Had a really great time here with my husband and son! Read more

Fantastic Service. . the kids LOVED our waiter and insisted that we leave him a good tip :). The food was great and reasonably priced. My husband had the ribs and said that they were better than he expected, and comparable to places that specialize in Ribs. The owner came to our table to make sure that everything was up to standards. The decor has been updated since the previous owners left (Schmeckers) . This is a totally different menu from the previous place, and is very family oriented. Kids meals are $5 and include a drink and Ice Cream. Would definately recommend to a friend and Will be back! This is a place where you can get good food, and at a reasonable price. Small and cozy, the waitresses take care in providing you with what you need, and they serve excellent fish. About the only complaint is that they were not using actual wasabi, but that is hard to get in Winnipeg, so it's understandable. Another point is that they do not have a house sauce, which is one of the things that help diferentiate between different sushi places. I would go here again and again. Read more
